Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 2 pounds chicken wings Opt for fresh, good-quality wings without any added preservatives.
  • ½ cup honey I prefer using raw honey for its rich flavor and health benefits.
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Choose a low-sodium variety to keep the dish flavorful yet balanced.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic provides a robust depth of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar This'll add a tangy brightness to the glaze.
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Ground ginger adds a warm spiciness that beautifully complements the honey.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Freshly cracked will give a more vibrant flavor.
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Start by rinsing the chicken wings under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is glossy and well-blended.
  3. Place your prepared chicken wings in the slow cooker, then pour the honey garlic mixture over them. Use a spoon to ensure all wings are nicely coated. Set the slow cooker on low and let them cook for 4-5 hours.
  4. Once the cooking time is up, you can broil them in the oven for 3-5 minutes to achieve a bit of char. Just watch closely to avoid burning.
  5. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top before serving.

Notes

Letting the wings marinate in the honey garlic sauce for an hour before cooking can elevate the flavors even further.
