Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • ½ cup dried buttermilk powder Look for good-quality buttermilk.
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. dried dill weed
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder Use sweet onion powder for a more mellow flavor.
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt Preferably fine sea salt.
  • 1 tsp. black pepper Freshly ground.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl Preferably glass to see the colors.
  • Whisk
  • Airtight container For storage.

Method

  1. Start by grabbing a medium-sized mixing bowl—preferably a glass one so you can admire the beautiful colors as you mix.
  2. Measure out the buttermilk powder first; it should have a smooth, creamy texture. Then, add the parsley, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Using a whisk, blend all the ingredients thoroughly until you achieve an evenly distributed mixture. As you whisk, the aroma of the garlic and herbs will envelop your kitchen, making it impossible to resist a taste!
  4. Transfer your seasoning into an airtight container, such as a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Make sure to label it with the date and contents for easy reference.
  5. While it might be tempting to use it right away, I recommend letting your homemade ranch seasoning sit for at least an hour to enhance the flavors. Give it a good shake before using!

Notes

Give your seasoning mix some time to blend and develop its flavors; immediate use may not do it justice.
