Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
  • crumbled goat cheese or feta (for serving, optional)
  • chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with chopped bacon. Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture, followed by maple syrup. Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Toss everything together until well-coated.
  3. Spread the mixture in a single layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Roast for about 20-25 minutes, giving them a gentle toss halfway through.
  5. Sprinkle crumbled cheese on top before serving and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For best results, ensure not to overcrowd the baking sheet.
